Step 1: Set up book area in classroom with informational books about tornadoes from library.
Step 2: Divide class into 5 groups of 6. Hand out one packet of information from FEMAKids.com for each group.
Step 3: Designate 2 people in each group for each job: Meteorologists, Tornado Safety Engineers, and Tornado Historians. The two people will work together on their part of the assignment.
Step 4: Once all 6 are done, they will come together to collaborate on a script for the video. (This will include the picture/drawing, the table of the Fujita Scale, and the interview with a tornado survivor.)
Step 5: Groups will take turns at the teacher's computer to record their broadcast. Once finished, they will save their video onto the classroom flash drive and switch to the student computers.
Step 6: Once every group has had a chance to edit their production, the videos will be viewed.
